SERMONS

This year, our Lenten series is titled “Journeying towards the Cross of Mercy.” Over the weeks ahead, we will move slowly and intentionally toward the cross, listening for the tender voice of God and learning what it means to return with open hearts. Last week, we began reflecting on six simple words. You may still be holding them. Turning them over. Wondering where they lead.
In the coming weeks, we’ll unfold those six words together — one movement at a time — discovering how God calls… how we return… and how even dust remembers mercy.  We would love for you to walk this road with us. This is our story. And you are here in it—still being formed, still being led, still held by the God who makes a way.

Bible Study Invitation from Pastor Wendy Minshall

📖 – For the past few years, several of us at Peculiar UMC have made a commitment to read the Bible together in a year. I can honestly say, it has been life-transforming. Reading Scripture daily doesn’t just help us “get through” the Bible, it helps the Bible get into us.  It draws us closer to God, shapes our daily walk, and reminds us that we are part of one beautiful, unfolding story of God’s love. As we begin again, I’d love to invite you to join myself and others from our church, community, and friend groups in reading the Bible together using the YouVersion Bible App and the plan:

📘 BibleProject: One Story that Leads to Jesus 📘   This plan helps us see how all of Scripture points to Christ, offering short, thoughtful insights that bring clarity, encouragement, and hope along the way. You don’t have to be a Bible scholar. You don’t have to be perfect or consistent. You just have to be willing to show up — even on the days you miss a reading or feel a little behind. Grace is built in. If you’d like to join our group, you can use this link:  (please feel free to share!)

Let’s keep walking this journey together —learning, growing, and being shaped by God’s Word, one day at a time. I would love to read alongside you. -Pastor Wendy Minshall
