WORLD COMMUNION SUNDAY-OCTOBER 5th
Many traditions, one sacrament
World Communion Sunday celebrates the unity and diversity of the universal Christian community. Today, The United Methodist Church celebrates World Communion Sunday with Christian congregations all over the globe. Followers of Jesus Christ in large churches and small, on farms and in cities, in ornate buildings and under tents, gather to receive the bread and cup of Holy Communion. Some will receive cubes of bread. Some will tear from a common loaf. Some will receive a wafer. Some will drink from a common chalice. Some will dip a piece of bread into the cup. Some will have individual glasses. Some will use wine; some juice. Some will offer both. Pastors will lead a variety of liturgies, in many languages. Clergy will dress traditionally, formally, and casually. Despite the differences in our denominations and traditions, we celebrate our unity in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Jesus is MORE. Be like Him. Let Him do MORE through you. We all long for something more – more pece, more joy, more purpose. The good news is that Jesus is MORE. He is more than enough, more than our strength, more than our hope. In this series, MORE Like Jesus, we’ll discover what it means to reflect His love, His humility, His prayer life, His forgiveness, His obedience and His hope. Thogether, we’ll lelrn how becoming more like Jesus allows Him to do more through us — in our lives, our church, and our world. Come and see how Jesus is the MORE we’ve been searching for.
